Our Program

Engaging AND Effective

The most effective and transferable tools, taught through games and play

Singing, dancing, and beating on things – your child is already a musician!

Learning with these tools is the path of least resistance – your child will be engaged, empowered from day one, and be able to take music anywhere

Our Building Blocks

A Language of Melody to accelerate learning

“When we read, we begin with A B C, and when we sing, we begin with do, re, mi” (remember the Sound of Music?)

Do, re, mi, or solfege, communicates the relationship between pitches (aka. intervals), and rhythm syllables like Du, du de, du de di communicate rhythm.

Intervals and rhythm: the building blocks of melody and harmony.

Using these tools will help your child develop instincts for intervals and rhythm, which will help them grasp melodies faster and on any instrument.

If solfege is conversation, notation and transcription is reading and writing.

Teaching note names and literacy skills, alongside solfege, will allow your child to communicate with the broader world of music.

With note reading, your child will be able to pick up a new musical instrument quicker and easier.

Note Reading to communicate with the rest of the world

Embodying Music: Singing & Movement

It’s difficult to keep a child quiet and sitting still – we think that’s a good thing!

Any other instrument requires us to learn how to translate musical thoughts into physical movements, a process which takes lots of time and patience.

Singing, and beating on things, is the most intuitive way to translate a melody we hear in our head into sound.

And moving along to the music helps us internalize different beats and rhythms. It’s also just plain fun!

We keep lessons fresh and exciting by approaching the fundamentals from new angles each time!
